The first key: Prayer
There are many ways and hours to pray, but the most important thing is that we do not neglect prayer. Let’s avoid the mistake of only remembering to pray when the situation is not good.
We pray not to make God remember us, for He never forgets about us, but to makes us get closer to Him. And this way we understand that prayer must be a constant action on our lives. God is just a prayer away – isn’t that a wonderful truth?
The second key: Forgiveness
We all have someone we need to forgive. We all need forgiveness for ourselves. Forgiveness is the key for us to go ahead with our lives and not falling into the trap of guilt or resentment. Forgiveness is the divine medicine for us to get rid of bad memories and go on in peace. Do you want to be a totally new person in 2009? Start the process with forgiveness.
The third key: Daily self-analysis
The daily self-analysis is a very strong tool for us to become better Christians. Before sleeping, let’s look back on our actions of the day and think honestly about them. If we had another chance, would we act differently? Did our actions reflect our respect for God’s laws? Where and how can we improve?
The fourth key: Action in benefit of others
“Without charity there is not salvation”, Kardec said. Getting to know the pain and hardships faced by others, we learn how to be more comprehensive, more tolerant, to truly forgive. Besides, serving others is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful ways to pray.
